About
Jennifer Bynum
Jennifer is committed to helping people. She started school at 36 years old where she worked hard and received her AA at Wake Tech Community college. After climbing that first mountain she continued to work hard and received her BA at UNCG in Peace and Conflict studies where she learned techniques in active listening, conflict management, conflict resolution, and conflict transformation. Jennifer, who believes in the mantra, “never stop climbing towards goals” has been working on her MS in Clinical mental health at ECU for the past 2 years. She believes in showing empathy and compassion for all people and supporting people as they walk their paths in life. She uses an integrated approach to the therapeutic experience. She knows that one size does not fit all situations. Jennifer has facilitated grief groups and sexual violence groups, helping people through some of life’s hardest situations. She is trained in Trauma counseling, addiction recovery, PTSD, LGBTQIA counseling, and family healing. As a mom of five amazing children and married to a hard-working husband, she stays busy in her free time with her family adventures. She loves traveling and finding new places to explore.

I feel that my personal and professional experience allows me to connect and empathize with individuals and couples who might be dealing with the stress of marriage, military life, and chronic illness, including depression and anxiety. I have worked with families dealing with palliative and hospice care, helping to reduce stress and work through grief and related issues. - Michael Gisser, LMFT
